Q: iPhone 7 Plus US Sim Free?

Hi everybody,

i'd like to order the new iPhone 7 Plus during my holiday directly in the NYC Shop.
Can i order it "Sim-Free" or is it only available with a  "Carrier-Contract"?

Thanks and all the best,
Stefan

You can read all that is known on the Apple website.

This is as much as is known right now. http://www.apple.com/iphone-7/

Pre-orders are not for a few days, and release is later than that. You won't see what is going to be available until it is posted in the store.

Assuming your "holiday" is from outside the U.S., you should be warned that if you use your iPhone in a country other than the one you purchased it, Apple will not honor any warranty and very likely will not service your iPhone should you require service once you are home.  (The EU is considered one country for this discussion.)

This has historically been true ever since the first iPhone was introduced in 2007.

If you pay full price it will be unlocked and have no contract.  Note there currently is no Sim Free option for iPhone 7. Any model you buy will come with a sim for the carrier of your choice, but you can remove it and put yours in

As has been said however, warranty will only be valid in the U.S.

Note too that if you order it at a USA store or the online USA store, you will need to pick it up in person at an Apple Store, or have it delivered to a USA postal address.  Apple does not ship internationally.  You will also have to pay in full retail plus all applicablue state and local taxes at the store you purchase and pick up from (I believe in NYC that will mean both state and city sales taxes).  The only way to get a carrier unlocked device is to pay full retail at the time of purchase.

You wait until the device is available in India. Apple never releases the SIM free phone on pre-order and/or launch day. Check the launch dates for specific countries.

As I said there is no sim free option at this time. And as i also said, you can order any carrier version, as long as you pay full price for it, it will be unlocked and usable in India.

Yes, that is what I'm saying. You can choose the 32GB version as well if that is what you want, and that will also work.
