Where do I find Aperture 3.0 so i can upgrade. Not installed on my computer.

Which version of OS X do you have installed or want to update to?

If you buy a boxed retail version of Aperture 3 from Amazon or eBay, the updaters in the download page (Apple - Support - Downloads) will allow you to update only to version Aperture 3.4.5  (Download Aperture 3.4.5).  This version is compatible with Lion and Mt. Lion OS X 10.8.2 or later.  But you will not be able to update to any newer Aperture 3 version to be able to run Aperture on OS X 10.9.x or newer. The updaters for Aperture 3.5.1 for Mavericks or 3.6 for Yosemite and El Capitan are not available from Apple's Downloads page and Apple removed them from the AppStore in Februar 2015. If you want to upgrade to an Aperture 3 version that is running on any OS X version newer than OS X 10.9 it is no longer possible.

Apple is no longer developing Aperture. Aperture 3.6 has several bugs when running on El Capitan, that probably will never be fixed by an update, and you can no longer order prints products from Aperture.

Photos should be able to open and migrate any Aperture library, as long as it is on a compatible drive.

Your Aperture library needs to be on a drive with the file system MacOS Extended (Journaled) during the migration, and the drive must not be used by Time Machine. Your edits and compatible metadata, albums will be migrated to photos.
