Q: HomeKit unable to "allow remote access"

my schlage sense lock has worked with their app in the past. Now it is unable to find device. When I go into HomeKit, "my home", I find allow remote access is disabled. If I try to turn it on, it displays the message "turn on iCloud Keychain in settings to edit home users and accessories on all your devices.". Sometimes the message is "unable to configure remote access at this time".

i Do have iCloud Keychain turned on.

How do I get HomeKit to allow remote access?

I understand from your post that your Schlage Sense Lock is not able to find the device. I know how important it is for you to be able to use the HomeKit app with your lock. I recommend using the steps in this article under the sections "If you can't use HomeKit remotely with your Apple TV" and/or "If you have two-step verification on and can't use HomeKit remotely with your Apple TV (3rd generation)":
