Q: Recharge iPhone overnight

Some friends said overnight recharging will lower battery life. Is it true? Since I always recharge my mobile before I sleep and unplug the next morning, will it hurt iPhone?

iPhone 6, iOS 9.3.5

No - it will not reduce battery life to charge your iPhone overnight.

The battery can be charged whenever you like. Charging will stop automatically once the battery reaches full capacity and start again automatically if and when required due to ongoing battery usage.

Every time you charge a phone, tablet or laptop it lowers the battery life.

But I think it doesn't make a difference if you charge it some hours or overnight. The iPhone knows to stop charging.

Its best not to leave the phone connected overnight . Iphone battery charges pretty quickly you might as well charge it during the day while doing work . Maximum time it can take for full charge is two hours.

It is the recommend procedure, take no notice of people who tell you otherwise, charge it overnight, use it during the day.

Thank you, and by the way, What if I use a mobile power to charge iPhone. Will it also be ok if I leave alone?

On what do you base that statement?

It's actually a very good idea to charge your phone every night. In addition to the fact the phone will be completely charged and ready to go in the morning, if the phone is plugged in, connected to WiFi and the screen is locked, it will back up to iCloud. Doing this every night is a very good thing.
