Sep 8, 2016 2:27 AM in response to Goldenadderby William YZF-R1,I too bought an Apple watch three or four months ago. It was the 42mm Stainless Steel with Milanese loop so not the cheapest.
Do I expect a trade in? No I don't, I knew an upgrade was imminent but decided to buy at a discounted price.
So yes, I think you should be punished large.
Jog on and pay up or just make do with using your phone too.
I despise people expecting a free ride or discounted upgrade, I have three large Sony TV's in my house of differing ages but never expected preferential discounts when the next model was announced.
If its any consolation the trade in value for an Iphone 6S Plus for an Iphone 7 is insulting.

Sep 9, 2016 7:18 AM in response to Goldenadderby sfranchise,I don't believe that Apple's trade-in program supports the Apple Watch. I am not sure if this is intentional or not. However, there are third party sites such as BuyBackWorld where you can sell your old Apple watch for cash.

Sep 13, 2016 6:32 AM in response to Goldenadderby Kerry Kinkade,Not sure where you are located but, Nebraska Furniture Mart has an Apple Watch trade in deal in the Kansas City & Omaha areas. I presume this is good in Des Moines & Texas also, but no confirmation. I was offered $96 for my 2 month old 42mm sport.
