MY iPad Air, though fully charged has a black screen. When connected to my PC, I have to give permission through my iPad to connect to the PC......
any suggestions on what's wrong and how to fix it?

Try to force it to restart. Hold down the sleep and home keys for about 20 seconds or so. If you see the silver Apple, let go and let it reboot and see if your screen comes back.
