Start by uninstalling MacKeeper. It is doing you no good and it may be contributing to your issues.

There also is a noted issue with the hard drive, an error indicating failure.

Not sure if the included Apple Hardware Test would give an accurate

accounting of that drive status; but plan on replacement and be sure to

keep suitable backups. Time Machine, plus a second external archive.

    https://www.google.com/#q=uninstall+zeobit+mackeeper

After removal of zeobit mackeeper & its parts, you could run Etrecheck

again to see what it says. The CPU showed 20% just for mackeeper.

Those antivirus {& cleanmymac items} are usually sources of trouble.

The Etrecheck product can remove some adware, also the adware medic

from Malwarebytes for Mac can be helpful for some bad items. Usually

the uninstaller from some untoward products may or may not work.

    In any event...

    Good luck!

I think getting rid of MacKeeper would be good, but it isn't going to solve your problem.

Your issue sounds like an issue with your battery.

That would explain the fact the it drains so quickly. A faulty/failing battery will cause a lot of issues, even some that don't seem like they should be related. I have seen a battery cause a machine not to wake up from sleep before. It would also explain the abnormal temperature - when a battery is failing, it is drawing a lot more power directly from the power source, as the battery is not holding or retaining and power. This will cause your CPU to work harder, causing it to produce more heat, hence the heat issue.

I would highly advise running at least the Apple Hardware Test, or if possible, head to a Genius Bar or an Apple Authorized Service Provider and have them run Mac Resource Inspector (MRI) on your machine. It will give a graphic view of the current state of your battery.

I would be shocked if it was anything other than your battery.

    Good luck!

    Summary:

Your harddisk is dying. Prepare for replacement soon.

Your battery should be replaced, asap.

There is a crap software Mackeeper on your mac, that has to be uninstalled completely. It may already have done harm.

Upgrade the hard-drive to an SSD.

Between the Kernel Task, and AntiVirus usages, these tax the system

so as to cause it to run hot and while on Battery, waste power too.

While the Battery may be tired, especially if you ever fully discharged

    cells near empty, that may have damaged the ability to fully recharge;

the freeze-up implies Failing Hard Drive augmented by CPU usages.

The heat implies a failing hard drive; the restless CPU implies wasted

cycles of processor trying to make sense of the added garbage.

So your better ideas here are to replace the hard drive (see etrecheck)

and note the wasted (20% antivirus) and (99% kernel task) usages...

Both the noted replacements may be found in the macsales OWC site

for comparison; and their replacement guide videos (free) are helpful.

Batteries, storage drives (SSD + HDD) and where applicable, RAM.

You could use this page at OWC to find several update upgrade parts

and there reference costs, specifications, and compare them locally:

    https://eshop.macsales.com/MyOWC/

Additional information may be available from the Console log files. - IF

the diagnostic is imprecise or appears incomplete from only Etrecheck

and the other information that implies, please see an official Apple store

Genius bar (make appointment) ~ or Authorized Apple Service Provider.

Hopefully you won't just stop at a Battery, when indications suggests a

hard disk drive is failing. And if you have no backups, you may lose the

data and your files that are stored in the MacBook/Pro.

    • About Mac notebook batteries - Apple Support

    • Try safe mode if your Mac doesn't finish starting up - Apple Support

Back up your computer. It may run a bit better while you do that, if you

start in Safe Mode. (Also avoid saving adware + malware in the backup.)

    Good luck & happy computing!
