Q: How do I delete an application that does not come up in my Applications folder

I shall give you guys a brief background of my problem.

I downloaded the Reflektive application for work. It supposedly works with Outlook and Mail. It became a nuisance more than convenience so I wanted it gone. I tried deleting it normally via dragging it to the trash. But it kept saying it was unable to do so because it was still in use. This was after I had already quit everything. So I ask Google how to get rid of it and the Reflektive customer service. Naturally, Google gave me the solution quicker and I was able to get rid of it via Terminal.

Reflektive customer service replies and recommends to download their uninstaller. I wanted to be sure I got rid of all the apps remnants, so I clicked on the uninstaller. It apparently installs into your hard drive. When I checked the Applications folder, it wasn't there. But, when I checked the list of applications within System Information, it was listed there as installed. Now, how do I get rid of it? If it installed, is it hiding somewhere in my system? I would greatly appreciate your advice. Thank you very much!

Apparently there are some remnants of it. You can go to the Library (click on Go button at the Apple menu and hold ⌥ key, you will see Library folder). Open it and check for some plists or agents of this application that might have been left.

    Hi Ptaxey,

I don't seem to find any remnants in the Library folder... Does that mean it's all gone?

When I deleted the Reflektive app through Terminal it disappeared. However when I downloaded the uninstall app, the uninstall app itself, downloaded into my hard drive and now I can't find that... Where else should I look for it? Thanks for your help!

If I were you, I would check Downloads folder or the downloads history of the web browser to find the name of the file in the recent downloads. Then I would either open file in Finder and remove it or do a Spotlight search by the name to locate the file.
