Q: Using Macbook Pro mid 2015 2.2 g   with Logic ProX to record multiple tracks and keep getting Slow Drive message stopping the recording     Ive had this issue ever since buying the Logic program and becoming very frustrating.

Help with SLOW DRIVE issue trying to record 4 or more track in Logic Pro X    Using a Thunderbolt Zoom TAC 8 8 channel audio interface with all the setting I found based on my youtube research with the best way to set up Logic for multi track recording.  I tried a very similar interface from Zoom UAC 8 which is a USB 3.0 model and had no issues at all recording 5 tracks at once.  Opted for the faster interface thinking I would have no issues.   Can anyone help with my problem ?    thank you    Fred

MacBook Pro (Retina, 15-inch, Mid 2015), OS X El Capitan (10.11.6)

I have down loaded the Thunderbolt drivers for the Zoom TAC8 interface and is being recognized within Logic so all is functioning fine that way.  I even have Slow Drive messages when trying to record only 2 tracks but have no issues when using comparable program with Presonus Studio one. The Studio One is basic version which is only capable of two tracks at a time.

Which version of El Capitan?  10.11.3 is fine, but there are some issues with later versions.

Are you recording to the internal drive of the Macbook Pro? If so, it's a 5400 speed drive which is, a slow drive. Although it should handle 5 tracks ok.

Hi Octopi   Thanks for the reply    Version is 10.11.6    I am puzzled why it won't work with the Thunderbolt interface, I had a loaner USB 3.0 interface (Zoom UAC8) and had 5 and 6 tracks recording with no issue at all. Even with 5 tracks done, came back and recorded 2 more over top with no issues.       With all the research Ive done, I am considering an SSD drive at 7200 rpm but I am a little concerned about wasting my money to try that option if it doesn't work.  This is very frustrating.
