Q: Text messages missing on Iphone 5

I recently sent my iphone away to be repaired and it was under warranty. The Iphone 5 was replaced as unable to repair and now I note all my text  SMS messages have been lost... is there any way I can recover them from somewhere.The phone was backed up prior to being sent away and I used the sim in an old Iphone 4 whilst the there was being repaired...

    Thanks for using Apple Support Communities. I'm glad to hear that you were able to get your iPhone 5 replaced, but now it seems that you're needing to recover all the text messages that you've received since your last backup. That's a great question. The answer will be determined on whether you restored that backup to your 4s to use while waiting for your new iPhone 5.​

    If you restored your old iPhone 5's backup to your 4s to use while waiting for the replacement, all you'll need to do is back up the 4s and restore that new backup to your replacement iPhone 5. The iPhone 4s added any new messages to the list of the old messages so they'll all be there.

    If you didn't restore the iPhone 5's backup to your iPhone 4s to use, you would need to check with your carrier to see if they have those saved.
