Q: Health and wallet data lost iPhone 6s

Ugh, this is a mess. It started out yesterday when I did my workouts and noticed the Health App was missing data.

This is going to be long, so here is fair warning

Let's back up to Friday.

I use a Wahoo Tickr chest strap HR monitor and their app for recording my workouts. This in turn gets saved to the HealthKit app on my phone. and THIS pushes the calories burned to my LoseIT! app to help me count my daily calories vs. burned calories. This was all working fine until yesterday.

Saturday - I'm at a car show and had no place to stuff my phone so in the bra it goes. Somehow it was not "locked" and the icons were in that wiggly delete mode. Oops - so I cancelled that and thought I may have accidentally deleted one or two apps in the process. Boob-deleting! take that however you want

So, because I backed up my phone before we left, when I came home I restored it. No problem. Done this before without issue. EVERYTHING came back. My credit cards in the wallet, EVERYTHING.

Fast forward to Wednesday (yesterday).

Did my workout. When finished the app asks if I want to save it. I say yes and it saves to the Health app.

I open my health app and it is NOT there. On top of this ALL the stuff on my 'dashboard' is NOT how I had it. Everything seems to be gone for the past year. Dammit.

I go to the LoseIT! app to log my breakfast calories eaten and notice that the info from the workout is not there. Ugh. I quit the app. I quit all apps and check LoseIt again. Nada. I open the Wahoo fitness app and send the info of the workout over to lose it and it says the workout is there. No, it is not. I do this several times while checking settings in all apps until I'm in some insane circle of **** that Dante hadn't come up with.

I quit them all. do a hard reboot and check again. That circle of **** is now becoming more demonic. I reset my health app to my liking and manually imported my workout data to LoseIt.

I give up until today to see if maybe it was just a little glitch. Of course it's not a glitch.

So, I come here and start searching. For the life of me I can't find the thread, but I found one where it was dated earlier this year and whoever answered the OP told them to restore the phone from a backup. OK I can do that again and we'll see what happens.

Kill me. Just kill me now and save me from this endless loop of data loss!

When I restore the phone to Saturday morning's settings, NOTHING got fixed other than losing 2 workouts in the Wahoo app (fine i can live with that) but now unlike Saturday night's restore, my WALLET data is all gone.

That circle of **** now has gremlins inhabiting it making things more impossible.

On top of this restore, it gave me grief about unlocking it because of some passcode and then when it finally decided to unlock, I had that white screen where I had to slide to open. I put in my passcode and then it was upgrading. I let it finish and sign in to iCloud and all that other good stuff.

My wallet is still empty.

Health app is still doing what it feels like.

I shouldn't have started this restore nonsense. I did this twice this morning to no avail.

Could the database of the restore be corrupted?

Should I try wiping out the phone completely and then restoring the database?

I want to wait for answers here before I put my card info in again. Some cards are easy and some are living ****. I tried one card that I know is grief-free hoping it would "push" the info in there and make everything come back, but of course that did not happen AND it was telling me it can't add the card and I need to contact the issuer.

So, help me or kill me, but I don't want to go back to that circle of **** again today!

Data in the Health app is only backed up if your back up is encrypted. iCloud back ups are. If you're using iTunes to back up, you must explicitly check the box and select a password.

    One more thing.

When I connect my phone to iTunes, it's automatically syncing despite the fact I have the box that says "prevent iPods, iPhones, and iPads from syncing automatically"

Yeah I know that, but the data was gone before I did any restorations. It's also not so much of a problem losing the data, but the data is NOT going in when I send it from the Wahoo app and its not going out to the LoseIt app. All the settings for the health app keep reverting to step counting and other panels I never set up.

Also my wallet that was stored in the cloud and it's all gone.

I can't tell from the really long post if you've already done this but, I'd delete the Wahoo app and the LoseIT app (that data should be backed up in your LoseIt account) and add them back.

I was thinking that too, but I think something else could be wrong. The wallet will NOT let me add a card at all.

Keeps asking me to contact the issuer or try again later. Tried it with several different cards.

So, if I go into my iCloud account on my phone my credit card and wallet info is all in there. I'm thinking this is why I cannot add new cards. So why is none of them showing in the wallet?

Settings > iCloud > Apple ID > tap name & put password in > Devices > mine > and they're all here.
