Q: airPods ---  Doubts

Hi guys,

I am so excited about the new product airPods. It looks quite enjoyable. But I have several doubts in mind about the functionalities of the airPods before I decide whether I want to buy it or not. ( I read the documents on airPods )

  • It seems work similar to apple watch - automatically detected by the LATEST OS X/iOS version, which I assume I might buy it till next year. Does it count as the cutting-edge technology?
  • I used wireless headphone before, somehow the bluetooth device does not functionally as idea way, general problem for all the wireless products, sometimes it detects the device, sometime it does not. What would be the advantage of airPods comparing to other wireless products?
  • It introduces the advanced chips inside the airPods, Does it have extremely advance feature on battery saving stage?  Would the chips affect any connections on the implementation of Siri/Voice APIs?
  • Why it priced double-triple times higher than general earPods considering the physical appearance of the airPods is so tiny?

I am so eager to know about this product, it has been introduced to be the future of the wireless products.

Thank you,

Molly

    A) The device needs iOS 10 for smart devices, Sierra for Apple Computers, or Watch OS 3. It also requires an iCloud account.

    B) The advantage is if the BT works flawlessly then you don't have cables dangling from your ears, which if you are a spy it lowers the chance of another spy strangling you from behind if they left their lariat back at the hotel.

    C) the headphones supposedly remain charged for -/+ 7hrs. the charging unit -/+ 20 hrs.

    D) because like many companies Apple likes to provide a product to a particular clientele. If you don't mind paying $250 for distressed jeans, $49 for a bottle of channel nail polish, or $75 for faded concert t-shirt at a boutique because the world won't know what an amazing band the Beatles were unless you wear a shirt then $150 for state of the art tech on a pair of q-tip ends with speakers is what they want you to pay.

A,B,C,D slightly answered my questions. I like the idea of the particular clientele.

I think I won't buy it until all my products upgraded to the highest levels. and it is not a necessary product on my list.  And I don't really think the BT works better than general BT products, which I think It will somehow not function well on the detecting of the device. I seriously doubt this part.

Anyway, I am looking forward to it. Thank you for your time in answering my question in your busy schedule.
