Q: How do i sign up for upgrade progam and be a part of the pre order online

I want to be a part of the first wave of people to order the iPhone 7 on Friday. The problem is I'm not a part of the upgrade program yet. Can I do this online? Or do I HAVE to go in the store which will almost guarantee I won't be a part of the first wave of pre orders... seems like this could be done online.

Apple advises that, in the US, you can purchase iPhone 7 or iPhone 7 Plus with the iPhone Upgrade Program online or at an Apple Store.

    You must visit an Apple Store to enroll in the upgrade program for the first time.  One reason is you must bring your existing cellular telephone.  Details are here:

    For first time enrollers to the upgrade program you do not need to bring in a previous iPhone. You can if you want to apply for a trade in, and you'll get a gift card with the value of the device towards any purchase in the Apple store. But its not a requirement to bring in a current phone.

     

    The previous iPhone requirement is only for those already in the upgrade program, and that are eligible for an upgrade.

     

    So you turn in your currently enrolled iPhone, and get the new one.

     

    Once the iPhone is available for pre-order you will be able to select the upgrade program option during checkout.
