Sep 9, 2016 12:50 AM in response to ammarfromdohaby LaPastenague,Not even close.. you will be lucky to get 400Mbps routing speed.
Extender over wireless even worse.. if you connect at full AC speed.. so 1300Mbps the actual file transfer speed is less than half.. to make it easy lets say 500Mbps (it will be less than that in reality because to get even 800Mbps link speed the units will need to be <5M apart no obstacles. It will then halve because you double hop.. so that is now down to 250Mbps. (this is real world throughput, not lies, bigger lies and statistics called wifi).
It is impossible to get gigabit real world speed over wireless. Even single hop.
And you need a really high end router to get 1Gbps actual throughput.
But with single hop wireless both will be about equal at say 400Mbps.. maybe a little more on a good day when the sun is shining and wind is in the East. And waxing crescent moon.
