Q: How can I turn off my Mac Pro?

Since the last few weeks I am having trouble turning off my Mac Pro.I press the shut down button and then it shuts down normally but it turns back on automatically without having to touch anything.I can only put the computer to sleep at the moment and it may cause the computer to over heat.Can someone help please?Thanks

You should choose Shutdown from the  Menu when you are finished using your Mac for the day. This puts away the directory copy in RAM and closes the disk Drive in an organized way before halting Mac OS and dropping power.

Using the power button drops the power, but does an uncontrolled Power-Off. This can lead to disk corruption, and should only be used for an emergency power off. In addition, if you have "restart after a Power failure" set in energy saver, your Mac will note that the power failed, and restart itself.

There's no need to power off every time you finish with the MBP. Close the lid and it will go to sleep safely.
