Q: Every time I turn my iOS device on, even if it is just sleeping, all the icons have been rearranged. Is this from a virus? Why is it happening?  Thank you.

Is there something in settings that I should change or could I have a virus or have been hacked? Thank you for your help.

iPad Air, iOS 9.3.4, Icons also move on iPhone.

First of all make sure you are running the latest version of iOS on your device. if yes, there might be a bug which might have been causing this issue. restore should resolve this issue.

please make sure you have backed up your data on itunes before restoring the device.

    HI, Danish-iHacker,

Thank you for the information. I do not own a desktop computer. My husband does but he uses it for business and does not like me to go on it. Is it possible for me to just do a back up to iCloud on my iPad? Would that be sufficient? Thank you very much. And then how do I get the information back?

HI, again.  Thank U for replying  to my question regarding icons rearranging by themselves. I do have the latest version of iOS 9.3.5. I tried reset, and it continues to rearrange my icons rather than iPad is  off or "sleeping."

I also downloaded McAffee security. However, I am not sure I set it up right or that it is working. Would it tell me if I had a bug or virus? As I asked before, would doing a back up to iCloud on my iPad be sufficient before I reset? If not, my husband did say I could have permission to use his desktop if necessary.

In addition to the icons rearranging every time it closes and reopens (it does not do this on my iPhone 6, it also types words that I did not type or dictate. I was working in One Note, also in MS Word  and the device will change a word that I dictated, insert a? In the center of a word, scroll down and type a letter of random alphabet, and most Erie of all was yesterday in one note, when I turnEd  away for a second and looked at it again, it had typed the word "good morning" highlighted in yellow. Could this mean I have been hacked?

I was having this issue a couple of weeks ago, called Apple support, and they advised me to take it in to the nearest Apple store which I did. They said it was a short in the circuit and replace it with a new iPad air  on 8/18/15. Whatever bug, virus or hack I must have on the old niPad, must have transferred to the new iPad when they transferred information.

Do you  have any suggestion, sir? Thank you for your time and attention to this matter. Sincerely, Peggy Ella    Q

You have a hardware problem. Take it back to the Apple Store and tell them you are not satisfied with the replacement iPad.

The McAfee products in the App store appear to be vaults and lock boxes. So whatever you downloaded would be of zero use to you in your search for malware.

    Have a nice day.

    HI Boyd,

Did you see my second post that followed the above one saying that it also takes control of the typing whether I'm in MS word or OneNote, it doesn't seem to matter… But it will type words like good morning highlighted in yellow. Or it will change  the  "Ed"  at the end of the word to ING. It will scroll down to a second page and then type a line Aziz for example. It will insert a? In the center of the words that I type. That's what makes me think it is more like a hack ... Like someone else's controlling my device. It will highlight section of the page that I did not do enough I'm not

    Hi PeggyElla1953,

Do not make this too hard. You said this was a replacement iPad. Take it back to the Apple Store and show them what is going on. Tell them you are dissatisfied with the replacement. You are not hacked. You do not have any malware. It is a problem with the touch screen. Do a search here and you will see that you are not the first user to have this problem.

    Have a nice day.
