Jul 25, 2015 11:12 AM in response to AlinMby erandac,Thanks AlinM for pointing to a correct direction. Indeed it seems to be a Bluetooth and Wifi interference issue for me. Specially Bluetooth PAN interface in the MAC. Just deleting the Bluetooth PAN interface from the Network settings resolves the issue for me.

Aug 14, 2015 1:52 PM in response to mommuby kbenham, try this...
1.Open terminal.
2. type: sudo killall coreaudiod
3. enter password: (enter your pass)
close terminal, both issues are now fixed
(until next time when they inevitably occur again and you'll need to repeat these steps)

Aug 26, 2015 9:00 AM in response to mommuby rajesh1985,Ok people. I've tried all the fixes suggested by you folks here. None worked. I contacted Apple care and they emailed me the following :
First, try the SMC and PRAM Resets:
SMC Reset (Macbook/Macbook Pro/Macbook Air):
1. Shutdown the Mac.
2. Connect the MagSafe Power Adapter (Charger).
3. Observe if the MagSafe Power Adapter (Charger) light is Orange or Green.
4. Locate the Shift, Control, Option, and Power keys.
5. Press and Release the Shift, Control, Option and Power keys on your computer. The Mac will not start up.
6. If your MagSafe Power Adapter Light (Charger) was Orange, you will see it turn Green, then back to Orange. If it was Green, you will see no change.
Then, PRAM Reset
1. Shutdown the Mac.
2. Locate the Command, Option, Letter P and Letter R keys on your keyboard.
3. Turn on the Mac, and immediately hold down all four keys at the same time.
4. You will hear the initial chime. Continue to hold the keys until you hear the chime a second time.
5. Let go of the keys when the second chime plays, and let the Mac start normally.
If the issue persists, try a test user account:
To do the Test User:
1. Go to System Preferences by clicking the Apple Menu.
2. Go to Users and Groups (Accounts in OS X Snow Leopard).
3. Click on the lock at the bottom of the window.
4. Click the at the bottom of the white box.
5. Set the account type to administrator, and set all of the settings to "test". This includes the full name, account name, password, etc...
6. Click the lock to lock the preference pane.
7. Click the Apple, then "Log Out ..." and log out.
8. Click the test user, and sign in. You can skip any setup at this time
9. Try to test out the bluetooth audio connection and see if the issue persists here.
I tried this out a couple of times (not the test user thing) and the issue was resolved.
Cheers!

Aug 29, 2015 1:52 AM in response to mommuby Joshua Waring,With a fresh install of Windows 10, the bluetooth audio problem persists, leading it to be a hardware issue that possibly can't be fixed with a new version of OS X or even a driver update. I'm going to inspect the antenna incase there's any issue there.

Sep 19, 2015 2:45 AM in response to AlinMby marcellux,Change the channel on your wifi router. You are probably getting interference.
Wi-Fi and Bluetooth both occupy a section of the 2.4 GHz ISM band that is 83 MHz-wide. Bluetooth uses Frequency Hopping Spread Spectrum (FHSS) and is allowed to hop between 79 different 1 MHz-wide channels in this band.
That did the trick. Thank You!

Dec 14, 2015 8:03 AM in response to mommuby nhaigh,I have upgraded to El Capitan and noticed a bluetooth audio lag while watching video's on Youtube etc and local video files
I have a Pure Jongo T2 Speaker connected via Bluetooth and there is around 2 second delay of audio, if I disconnect the bluetooth connection and use an audio cable it's fine, no delay! so it's definitely a bluetooth issue
I have done a PRAM Reset...still same problem.
using iMac Mid 2011, 12gb ram

Jan 18, 2016 7:22 PM in response to nhaighby chado33,FIXED IT!!
I have a iMac 27" Mid-2011 and I've been having choppy bluetooth issues for months. I have both a Magic Mouse as well as a Trackpad on the machine. A couple of days ago, the trackpad's batteries died while I was listening to a choppy podcast... and low and behold... everything cleared up. I've left the trackpad off for the past couple of days and the audio is now completely clear!! No more choppy audio.
I tried to reconnect the trackpad and the problem recurred, so it's definitely the trackpad. As such, I've left the trackpad off and it's clear as day. This leaves me without a trackpad, but also a clear and definitive cause to the problem. This is something that should be escalated to Apple's bug team so that they can update the firmware of the trackpad, change the channel on which it's communicates, whatever.
Anyway, I hope this helps someone.

May 22, 2016 4:10 PM in response to rajesh1985by DavidX1150,I am currently using a Beats Pill Plus connected to my Macbook pro. I have been having this 2 second delay problem with Beats Pill since day one. I tried connecting it with many devices and the delay was always there. But, since I only use my Beats Pill for blasting loud music, I never really thought about solving this problem. I would always switch to my Sony XB950-BT for YouTube videos and movies.
Recently, it seems like bluetooth audio delay is becoming a problem for many people, so I went online to look up this issue again in hope of that there would be some updated solution for this conundrum.
So I just tried the method you suggested and I'm NOT making this up: the delay was reduced from 2 seconds to about 0.5 second. Still can't watch videos tho. But it's certainly nice to learn some tricks about system reset.

Sep 9, 2016 3:42 AM in response to mommuby debasdroid,Looks like what started with Yosemite in 2014 is still there. Ridiculously ignored issue by Apple.
Mac mini 2012 running El Capitan 10.11.6. Tried multiple bluetooth audio devices. Issue persists. Has anyone checked how it is in Sierra?

Sep 10, 2016 2:54 AM in response to mommuby Yizhe Zhan,Same thing here, 2015 MBP running on Yosemite. It is really annoying, since it forces me to use audio cable again and makes the bluetooth speaking worthless. I don't think it is a hard problem to fix. Just want this issue to be noticed by Apple Support Team.

Sep 10, 2016 7:16 AM in response to mommuby debasdroid,After reading all the posts and following all possible steps, removing bluetooth PAN service from the Network settings did actually resolve the issue. Been running bluetooth audio on and off for more than 24 hours now, seems steady. So I think it's safe to say it's fixed.
Thanks to everyone suggesting solutions, especially this one.

Sep 10, 2016 1:24 PM in response to debasdroidby Yizhe Zhan,I tried several times, but it doesn't work for me. If I did nothing but playing music, it's fine. Otherwise the issue remained.
