Apr 21, 2016 6:28 AM in response to CurveTheRainby joe_7399,Hi CurveTheRain,
Thanks for using the Apple Support Communities!
I understand that an audiobook is stopping during playback because of some explicit content, but your iPhone doesn’t have any restrictions enabled. This does sound like a frustrating situation, but we’re here to help. Was this audiobook acquired from iTunes or from somewhere else?
To begin troubleshooting, I suggest quitting the application you are using (typically iBooks, but could be Music too if you imported as a music file from a different source). The following article describes how to quit an application in iOS.
Force an app to close in iOS - Apple Support
After that app has been quit, restart your iPhone.
Restart your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch - Apple Support
After your iPhone restarts, check the restrictions again to verify that no explicit content is restricted and then test the audiobook one more time.
Use Restrictions on your iPhone, iPad, and iPod touch - Apple Support
Best!

Apr 23, 2016 3:47 PM in response to joe_7399by scottellsworth,I have the same problem. I download podcasts in iTunes and switch the media kind to music. (I have an older car that can only play Music playlists.)
Formerly, downloading the science friday podcasts worked just fine, but since updating to 9.3.1, it has not. Now, about halfway through, iOS Music will stop and put up the Explicit warning. Hitting Allow will often allow it to continue, but the next time I start the car, it has forgotten that I allowed it. Further, when it stops playing it sets the track to the beginning, losing my place in a one hour podcast.
As suggested, I have tried turning restrictions on, and I have seen no difference. I shall try various kinds of resets next, and see what happens.

May 1, 2016 10:02 PM in response to CurveTheRainby wanderingnoah,Same thing here.
Tried all the "solutions" but nothing works. It seems to be very random. Thing play for a while then just stop. Sometimes it happens minutes apart sometimes hours but it never fails to happen.
Very annoying when exercising having to stop and restart
This never happened before the latest update.

May 30, 2016 9:38 AM in response to joe_7399by gmgdnj,Apple's 'standard reply' is not helpful. You guys really need to stop using that form letter response.
That restrictions thing no longer seems to work in this 9.3.1 update. It is getting very irritating to be listening to iTunes Radio, or whatever it's called now, and only be able to listen to the clean versions of songs or songs with the majority of its lyrics blanked out, turned to empty spaces. Is their any real, competent, way of fixing this issue?
Thank you

Sep 11, 2016 7:22 AM in response to CurveTheRainby drew.ss1,I have had this issue for some time now. I play music and at random the music stops and I read the that I'm not allowed to listen to my music. Apple, I paid a lot of money for my iPhone 6S plus and I believe I own it. I want to listen to my music and nit be told that I am not allowed. It is beyond frustrating and irritsting. It is now dangerouS. Why? Because I connect my phone to my car's audio and each time I have to use my phone to restart the music, I am distracted From driving.
Apple, give me back control of my music. Simply fix it so that I can turn off Restrictions. listen carefully. All the 'fixes' suggested DO NOT WORK.
iOS 10 will I hope bring the resolution to this dangerous problem.
