Q: selected movie won't play

Just purchased Yellow Submarine (HD), the new one just released.  On a Mac Pro with Apple 30" Cinema Display.  Get error message "The selected movie won't play on your Display", This movie can only be played on displays that support HDCP (High-bandwidth Digital Content Protection)."

How the heck am I able to purchase a movie via iTunes on a Mac that a Mac won't play?  There's no warnings or anything about it in the iTunes store or anything.

Thanks this worked for me also did a PRAM reset first then immediately shut down using power button then did.

    "reset the System Management Controller:

Shut down the computer. With the computer off, on the left hand side of the keyboard press shift+control+option along with the power button simultaneously and release. Wait 5-10 seconds and restart the computer."

Have been playing about with all my software and older peripherals to get them working on ElCapitan and the new macOSSierra Beta and as the library is on a connected drive software the OS may have thought I was up to no good.

I have had this happen before on older setups for the same reason I assume but had forgotten the fix.

    Thanks MTG-Man

I have the same problem on my brand new Macbook. But I don't get an error message. My screen just stays black and I can hear the sound but no picture.  And it worked yesterday.  What's going on?
