Q: iPhone 6 iTunes Store App has download stuck at "waiting"

Using iOS 9.3.5 (13G36).  I just activated the phone and have iTunes Match.  When downloading some playlists to the phone so I can listen to them offline, I see that when I open the iTunes Store app and navigate to the Downloads section, I have one song that's stuck in "Waiting."  I've tried restarting the phone via the lock button and the home+lock button.  I've signed in and out of iTunes.  Nothing seems to get this unstuck.  It also seems to be draining my battery.

Strangely enough, the song actually shows it is downloaded and local in the Music app.  So I'm not sure what's going on.

Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks!

Corith

    Hello CorithMalin,

Thanks for using the Apple Support Communities!

If I understand correctly, you are having a problem downloading some music.  I would be happy to try to help you with this.

The first thing I would recommend would be to force quit the Music app:  Force an app to close on your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch

If the problem continues after restarting the Music app, you want to make sure you have a current backup of everything on your iPhone. If you follow this link, you will find instructions on how to do a backup: How to back up your devices using iCloud or iTunes.

It is possible that something has become corrupted that is causing the problem.  Once the backup is finished, I would suggest to reset all settings.

Reset All Settings resets preference files that may be having issues. This step will not delete your contacts or photos or any personal information. It does remove all of your preferences for Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, Do No Disturb, Notifications, General, Sounds, Brightness & Wallpaper and Privacy, and removes your Touch ID & Passcode.

You do this by tapping Settings > General > Reset > Reset All Settings.

    Cheers!
