Q: Garageband - Editing podcast from Skype call

I am beyond frustrated with Garageband. My podcast partner and I recorded our show through Skype using Ecamm Call Recorder. Found a youtube tutorial on splitting the audio tracks. However, when I imported them into Garageband, I cannot edit the mistakes.

I have spent hours trying to figure it out. I know how to record directly into GB and edit but for some reason, editing using the audio files from the Skype is nearly impossible for me without direction. I've searched YouTube and can't find a tutorial that can help. I really don't want to go back to paying for Adobe Audition. I wish GB was intuitive for audio files only. It is definitely a software that is best suited for music.

Can anyone guide me to some tutorials that can help?

    Hello mssnay,

Thanks for using the Apple Support Communities!

It sounds like you want to use GarageBand to edit some audio files.  GarageBand is a powerful app.  I will try to get you pointed in the right direction.

There is a section in the user manual that deals with editing audio files.  You can find it here:

    GarageBand Help: Audio Editor overview

There is a section there that deals with how to Edit audio regions.

    Cheers!
