Q: Data Recovery

My MacBookPro was formatted without first BackingUp my Data in the Hard drive. Are there Apple Software to recover Mac Hard drive? If there are, how do I get them? Thanks

Yes. There are data recovery software for the Mac. Depending on what was done after the format will determine what can be recovered. If the operating system and software has been reinstalled already then that will greatly reduce the number of files which can be recovered.

never having had any need to use any of this software, I am sorry I can not recommend any of them. But here is a site that does recommend 10 of them, http://www.toptenreviews.com/software/backup-recovery/best-mac-data-recovery-sof tware/

Maybe in the future you will implement a backup plan for your Mac so that this doesn't happen again.

After a format, I'm afraid there's not much you can recover.

It depends on the nature of the format. A quick format writes out a new empty root folder and marks all of the space on the drive as available, but the right software can recover everything that hasn't been physically overwritten with new data.

Be sure to stop using the harddrive.  If you wish to do the data recovery yourself, buy an external hd. Install an os on it.  Try out the data recover apps.
