Q: iPhone screen

Hello, I have an iPhone 6. I was using my iPhone today, and it was working normally. I locked the phone, and approximately two minutes later hit the home button to check the time. The screen was black with a series of moving, horizontal, white lines going downwards. My first instinct was to hold down the home and lock button at the same time to perform a hard reset and see if that would make any difference, it was unsuccessful. I then left it alone for 10 minutes and plugged it in, again no change. My phone had been on airplane mode prior to this happening, so I can't call it to see if it's responsive in any way...  Any information anyone has will be really helpful, thanks!
