Ever since latest El Capitan 10.11.6 update on 01 September, I cannot play any games. I just get a message saying that I need Flash. I have downloaded Adobe Flash but still getting the message.

Thank you :-) That has explained more than anything or anyone else. I've bought numerous books on Apple products too. They really do like to confuse people! I am quite au fait with Windows laptops & the way they work (I can even replace parts on them, thanks to college courses) but Apple products are a law unto themselves LOL.
