Q: iPhone 6 plus intermittent unresponsive screen

So a couple days ago, my iPhone 6+ began having intermittent screen responsiveness. First time, I received a phone call and couldn't answer it because the swipe wouldn't work. I turned it off and back on with no luck. I reset it and that fixed it. That was the only issue that day. I the last few days it's becoming more frequent. Today alone I've had to reset it eight times.

What it's doing;

  • touch screen is unresponsive to touch entirely.
  • touch screen responds after a delay
  • I tap an app icon and the app two rows up opens instead.
  • from loch screen-can't answer phone calls or notifications.

Sometimes it just leave it alone and come back to it and it's fine. Sometimes I leave it alone and come back with same result and I have to reset it. Sometimes I reset it once and trying to unlock with touchscreen (because touch ID doesn't work after reset) doesn't work so I reset it twice. It has worked after the second time, so far.

The phone is in perfect condition. Never been dropped. Was updated to 8.3 the day it was released so the issue didn't arise immediately after an update.

Anyone having these issues?

iPhone 6 Plus, iOS 8.3

That's a HUGE let down and I hope more people post on here so that Apple can see and possibly do something about it.

As Apple is not reading here, that's rather pointless advice.

Are you sure they are not reading this?   I think they may be or this thread would not be so heavily moderated.  Exactly who are these highly qualified VOLUNTEERS who moderate the forums

We're all just people who use Macs etc. Apple employees only act as moderators (but they may answer posts that are otherwise unanswered after a time period.

There is a separate feedback area where your comments can be put.

I'm pretty sure the hosts watch this thread. But they are hosts, not engineers, not marketing, not sales, and they have no authority in those areas. Apple is a very big company, and believes in division of labor. The hosts have no responsibilities other than to keep the forums working and within the rules. I've met some of them, and they are really dedicated, great folks.

this helps a lot especially disabling the auto brightness and lower the brightness as well! I know this is just a temporary solution. I'm using iPhone 6 Plus

I have the iPhone 6, and the touch screen is unresponsive roughly 80-85% of the time now. Often it behaves erratically, like there are phantom touches, even when I am not near the phone. It has called several people now on its own, and sent out gobbledygook text messages to co-workers.  This broken iPhone is ruining my professional reputation, especially since I can't answer my phone anymore.

But I have no grey bars. Do other people with this issue all have the grey bars?

I didn't have grey bars for the first 3 months when experiencing the unresponsiveness, but then in the 4th month, the grey bars started barely showing up at the top of my screen whenever I gave the phone a gentle twist to get it to start responding again.

I've definitely got the gray bar at the top that goes haywire crazy and doesn't allow me to do anything with my phone.

Meg. St._Clair unless you have something to contribute you should probably use your time wisely elsewhere lol. I wasn't providing advice in the first place...I simply wanted to add to the discussion that I too am having an issue and hope that "Apple" as a company (may that be in a specific section idk & idc) would recognize a mistake they have made that has a negatively impacted several of their customers.

Thank you for your concern. But, I do have something to contribute and I do know how to use my time wisely.

    Best of luck.

Has anyone here gotten the issue fixed or gotten a replacement phone?

BTW to any Apple employees, journalists, lawyers, or perspective customers reading this, it is absolutely ABSURD that Apple has given us no option cheaper than $300 to address this issue. INFURIATING.

    That's great!

Could you please enlighten us as to what you, or the like of Lawrence Finch, are contributing to this thread in terms of promoting knowledge or a solution to this widely publicized and discussed problem (as opposed to irritating other forum users by defending Apple and their questionable practices without suggesting any form of solution)?

There is nothing wrong with taking your 'out of warranty' smart phone to a local repair shop and having it fixed. That is what I did. Just like to old days when there used to be TV repair shops, now there are shops that repair smart phones and tablets whether it is a broken screen, water damage, battery replacement, damaged port, or circuit malfunction... I can't mention any devices or repair shops in fear that this reply will be removed but options are out there. This is what I did and I has worked out well for me. Best of luck to you what ever you choose to do.

I'll enlighten you thus: This is not your forum or your thread until it is do not tell others what, where or when to post.

That about covers it for now.

That in n ok way addresses walmarks question of what is being contributed and I do not see where walmark says they can't post
