Q: created doc on iMac pages can't edit on MacBook Air

I created a doc with Pages on my iMac and normally I have no problem editing documents with Pages and my Mac Book Air. Suddenly my Mac Book Air won't let me load saved PDF into Pages so I can edit it. Why?

Are you really trying to use Pages to edit a PDF file?  I don't believe that was ever possible.  Why would you not simply send the Pages file instead of the PDF file from the iMac?

I goofed. Yeah  you are right. I had to go to Adobe and download a text converter. Thanks for reminding me.

    I'm glad it's solved, but ...

I suggest the process you're using be re-analyzed.  PDF should not be needed as any intermediate product in the scenario you described.  You should not need a text converter if you accurately described the process ---

Using Pages on an iMac, transferring the document, using Pages for a subsequent edit on a MacBook Air ...

If PDF is required at the end of the scenario, Pages can perform that for you just fine.  In general, Apple products are proficient at handling PDFs.  Why would you feel you need any Adobe product in this scenario?
