Q: How do I remove the irritating "Welcome to Pages"?

Is there a small check box on that welcome to Pages that suppresses future appearances of it? There does not appear to be any application settings that override the Welcome, or obvious resource settings in the preferences list file. I don't have it, and do not recall what I did to suppress it.

Are your Toolbar Tips still enabled, and by dismissing them, do you also lose the Pages Welcome banner the next time that you launch Pages?

There is no need to reinstall just about anything on a Mac. This is not Windows/PCs.

It is very sensible and it works. This is not a Mac either. It is an iPhone 6s Plus. It is a friend of mine's and I finally got it to work right after holding down the icon until it wiggled, hit the X to uninstall. I reinstalled Pages, the annoying welcome screen came up only once. Fixed.

It is a wild guess, stab in the dark, a misreading of the question, and misunderstanding of what is happening.

Right down to the advice for the wrong App, and failing to mention that you are talking about your iPhone when the OP asked about Pages for Mac. Which is what this forum is clearly labelled as.

II found this page from a Google search where I mentioned iphone. The question didn't say Mac. So I apologize. But it does work for iPhones by the way.

The problem is wrongly identifying cause and effect.

The "Welcome to Pages" comes up until you have actually created something and possibly restarted.

On a Mac there is a "Don't show this again" button, which most users ignore, just as they do about everything else including they have opened a completely different version.

I supported Macs in Pre Press studios for many years and observed the less that people observe or pay attention, and therefore the less they understand and know, the more weird, wonderful and wacky the "solutions".

Observe, Test, Eliminate. Repeat! Then you might just be onto something.

Bottom line in case iPhone people see this. Using the program didn't work. Creating something didn't work. Reinstalling worked.

So.  To summarise:

If you have this problem in Pages 5.6.2 on your Mac, reinstall Pages on your iPhone!
