Mac OS X
Q: Why does my computer shut down with 30% battery remaining?
Every time my MacBook Air gets down to between 20-30% power, it shuts down. It is about 3 years old. Why is this happening? It used to shut down only when it was close to 0%.
Thank you,
Ian

Perhaps it's time to replace the battery. Have you looked at the Power stats in System Information? If it does not say your battery is "Good," then it needs to be replaced. Otherwise, make an appointment at the Apple Genius Bar for service. If needed find an Apple Store - Find a Store - Apple.
