Q: Trouble Signing into iCloud Account

OS X Mountain Lion

10.8.5

3.06 GHz Intel Core i3

4 GB 1333 MHz RAM

 

Having trouble signing into my iCloud email account today for some reason.
I type my info in and then a white box pops up saying:

"You must update your Apple ID to continue signing in.

Answer your security questions to update your account information."

 

I answer the questions but the 'CONTINUE' button does not highlight for me to continue.
I've tried signing in now numerous times, but still the same message.
I've had no problem getting here to my Apple account.

 

* Nothing new I've done, other than needing to add a new Time Machine backup device last night,
since the one I had stopped working.
Not sure if that would have anything to do with it. {?}

 

Is iCloud having any known issues today ...
Is anyone else having trouble?
Thanks much in advance to anyone who can help me.
In the meantime, I'll hope it's on their end and continue trying to sign in.
