Q: Airport Time Capsule access Hard Drive

Hi,

My Airport Time Capsule's power interface was burnt our; this was due to an electric polarity inversion during the installation of a back-up Gen Set.

I asked our IT Tech to look at it and unfortunately he damaged the internal cable connection which seemed very delicate.

At this stage I have written-off ever using this as a normal wireless backup drive and will replace it with a new unit, however, I need to access the information on the Hard Drive.

Our IT tech bought a connecting cable and power supply for the Hard Drive which we have removed from the casing; it seems to be working but when I connect it to my Macbook Pro, the Hard Drive can't be seen.

Is there any other hardware and/or software that can access my stored data?

Many thanks,

Dimitri

Not all USB to Sata interface adapters work the same.. Some cannot handle disks larger than 2TB.. some are limited in other ways.

When I plug my old TC disk into the computer I can see the following.

APconfig and APswap are very small partitions used internally by the TC.

Data is the main default named directory.. it will be named whatever you changed it to.

You will also have more issues if you set this with a disk password or you setup users.. did you??

Otherwise as the right hand column shows I can see all the files in the disk.
