Q: How to deactivate apple ID for system apps?

My company purchased a Mac mini 3 years ago. When it was turned on for the first time our IT guy indicated his private email address as apple ID in the App store.

When he left the company he changed the password  and now I am unable to install the updates of system apps (IPhoto, Keynotes etc.)  The guy is switched off and I can't find him.

I have changed apple ID in App store  and can get other (non-system apps) though.

All the documents proving that my Mac mini is really mine are available.

Any thoughts how I can sort it out?

Everything that is on that Mac that was acquired (paid or free) with the IT guys Apple ID belongs to him and to him only. The Mac needs to be erased and have the original version of OS X reinstalled and start over as if it is a new Mac. Companies should never allow employyees to use their personal Apple IDs on company Macs. They should create Apple IDs that the company owns and controls to use on company Macs.

Guys, thank you for your comments.

In changing ownership of a used MAC I have found that

"You cannot save most applications, especially Apple/or AppStore ones as they are now copy protected. Any applications that are non-copy protected and self-contained completely in the app icon in the Applications folder are better off reinstalled fresh from original sources anyway."

So, does it mean that Apple  applications such Photos or iMovie, in any case,  will be lost if I clear my Mac as suggested?

The Apple apps; iPhoto, iMovie, GarageBand, Pages, Keynote and Numbers are all paid apps. They have been free with the purchase of a new Mac. But the IT claimed them for himself when he used his personal Apple ID to initially set up that company Mac. So if you erase the HDD any of them that you wish to have will likely need to be purchased.

iPhoto developement has been abandoned by Apple. The new Photos app is part of the macOS and will be installed with whichever newer version of macOS that you install.
