Q: iOS bugs, unresponsive home button, frozen lockscreen

I have an iPhone SE.
Just updated to iOS 10 and I have the following bugs:

- Cannot unlock my phone sometimes as the lock screen freezes or I don't know what it is.
I put my thumb on the fingerprint reader and nothing happens. It tells me to press the home button.
I press the home button and it does nothing. It does not even take me to the next screen to unlock my phone via password.

- When using an app, the home button again becomes non-responsive. I press the home button to go back to the main screen but nothing.

- Taking screenshots makes the screen have a white background with a blue horizontal line across the screen.

Solution was power off the phone completely and turning it back on by pressing and holding the power and home button at the same time.

The phone looks like it is working fine but the fingerprint scanner/home button becomes unresponsive at all and lock screen freezes. Then, the issue with the white screenshot plus vertical lines.

So far, 2 hours of testing.

Is this a bug(s)? Am i the only one experiencing this?

    Hello there, ChristianM19!

Thanks for reaching out to the Apple Support Communities! It sounds like you are having issues with the operating system on your iPhone not working properly. I know how important it is to be sure the iPhone is working properly at all times. The good news is there are a few articles with steps you can try to get the issue taken care of. First thing you might want to try is going to Settings on the iPhone and then to Reset. Once there, tap Reset all Settings. This will reset the iPhone, but not erase personal information such as photos, contacts, or music. It will, however, remove Wi-Fi and VPN settings so be sure you have those settings and passwords ready for when the iPhone is started back up.

If that doesn't work, it would be a good idea to be sure there is not a software issue as the root cause of this for you.

    1. Check out this article for the steps for How to backup your iPhone, iPad, and iPod touch
    2. Use this article for the steps to Use iTunes on your Mac or PC to restore your iPhone, iPad, or iPod to factory settings.
    3. Once that is done, set the phone up as new and test the phone to see if the issue is still going on. Then, follow this article to Restore your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch from a backup.

    Cheers!
