Q: Every time I log onto my iMac Photos loads automatically.

Every time I log onto my iMac Photos loads automatically with no device attached. I have right clicked on the Photos icon in the dock and Start up at login is not selected. I have gone to Users and Groups and Photos is not in my Startup items. How do I stop this? It is most annoying and slows down loading of others apps.

Mac OS X (10.6.7)

Just to be clear - you have no devices connected including no hard drives or memory cards, etc

What has changed since it was fine?

Have you tried to log off with the option "reopen windows" deselected? Does this stop Photos from launching?

Perhaps your Finder preferences need fixing.

Does the Photos window show any message when it opens? Does it open on the Import window or another window?
