Q: Apple TV (4th Gen) and HomeHub

Apple's literature is a little sparse on the practical setup of the Apple TV (4th Gen) as a Homehub.  They say

That's it.  Thing is there is no Settings>iCloud and check to see if your connected.  Is there a Home App for the Apple TV?  Am I missing something here.

Nevermind it worked.  You have to go into your iCloud account and HomeKit appears there. So it should be enable 2FA then in the AppleTV go to Settings>iCloud>Your iCloud account and Home appears.

I just went though the set-up. I had to make sure my Apple TV was connected to my WiFi before the Home app would recognize it. I have it wired to my router which is causing a problem for some reason. Once I was on WiFi I just opened the Home app and went to the Automation tab and it popped up. I did take some time (a few min) though.

Can you all be more clear where exactly you accessed this from. I'm looking on the phone, found it there, but there is no way to connect it to my Apple TV. I've looked everywhere to get this going...

Make sure the Apple TV and the iPhone are on the same WiFi. That is the only way I got it to pop up in the Automation tab. There isn't a button to hit, the app just recognizes that your Apple TV is on the same network and enables Automation - at least that is how it worked for me; the 'Create new Automation' button just popped up.

You have to make sure that you have Two factor authentication setup first.

Go to your apple id to do that.

    https://appleid.apple.com/

Once you have that go into your Apple TV Settings

Then go to iCloud in Apple TV

Go into your account in Apple TV

you should see Home show up there now.

Every device should be on the same network of course.

HI I hadn't the same problem.

you have to set the region to the United States in settings.

    THen it works great.

i Can't say why there is this odd limitation but I guess it's a matter of privacy or sorta.
