Q: Calender invitations - can only be accepted on a Mac?

Hi all,

I have been having a particular problem for quite some months now, but have never got around to ask why ..... so today is the day:

When I receive invitations from non-Apple using friends or colleagues (for instance working on Outlook or Lotus Notes) on my iPad or iPhone, I can see and add the invitations to my calender, however I cannot "formally accept" the invitation to the meeting (the benefit of which would be for the sender to receive my acceptance mail).

This I can only do on a Mac using Calender.

Inviations I receive from Apple users (be it from a Mac or an IOS device) I can technically accept, no issues.

Why is this?

Thanks

To accept the invitation open Contacts and select your own email address in the list. In the top menu go to Card - Make this my card. After you reload Calendar you should get an option to accept or decline invitation.

    Hi

my contact card is already set up correctly, it recognizes me in the invitation.

The invitation is basically a mail with a mime.ics attachment. If I click on it, the calender can create the meeting, but  like I said, no acceptance possible.

    Thanks
