Q: numbers text to rtf or pages (without formatting)

i have a very comprehensive list of items in two columns that i would like to move to a pages or rtf document.

i have removed the cell colors and the outlines and seem to have been able to paste it into a rtf document which appears to behave a strictly text document (no spreadsheet cell in there). however, when i try to do this in pages so i can insert to start a new page so i can format the document it appears that this behaves as a copied numbers cell/spreadsheet.

is there a way to convert it to a text document?

none of the export options in numbers seemed to do the trick.

THANKS

If all else fails I often Paste something I want as plain text into a new TestEdit document. BEFORE pasting make sure it really is plain text and not Rich Text ... look at the Format drop down menu and if you see Make Plain Text then select that ... if you see Make Rich Text then it is safe to Paste. ALL formatting should go.

    hi. thank you.

i haven't done this before so my terminology is probably very bad.

is there a way to just get rid of the cell outlines? I mean, when I paste it into TextEdit it /retains/ the format of Returns so the text is in the same place (which is what I want). but pasting into Pages seems to retain the cell outline (which I don't want).

maybe I can try it again today. it would be great help getting this to work.

    THANKS

I've just answered almost exactly the same question that was called 'Can I extract text from a Numbers document?' by another method.

Try pasting the information into a Text Box within Pages. It should appear there without formatting and from there select it all again and try pasting anywhere else. You can then delete the Text Box... it is only needed to replace the steps I described earlier going via TextEdit.
