Q: iOS 10 Photos Object Recognition

I cannot find easily what the requirements are for the new object recognition in Photos app is.

All news posts explain how good it is but a simple search on my iPhone 5s and no results are found and seems this is not working or available.

Is this something that just works on iPhone 6 upwards?

e.g. I had a sample photo of a sunflower and the search for 'flower' is just an empty list.

Thanks in advance

At least in the photos app you can go to the "persons" album. There it says, that the iphone should be locked and connected to the power cord. Then it will scan all the photos for metadata.

This worked for me only party. It shows that it scanned 470 photos, but 2200 are still remaining, and no matter how long I let the phone lie there connected and locked, it doesnt continue to scan the photos.

    Has anyone experiences with that?
