Q: Mac Pro freezes but mouse still moves

Today my work Mac Pro (Early 2009 model running OS X 10.10.5)
has "frozen" 3 times,
When it freezes, the mouse still moves but nothing else works. Can't click on anything, keyboard shortcuts don't work, only way out of it is to hold the power button and restart the machine. 

 

The last time this happened I used the command:

 

"sudo syslog -k Sender kernel -k Message CRe'GPU D|I/O|nspace-h|n Cause: -|timed? ?o' | tail | open -ef" in terminal to run the following report:

Sep 14 14:32:11 stevens-computer kernel[0] <Notice>: disk1s3: I/O error.

Can anyone shed any light onto what might have caused this issue?

    What was running when you had this problem?

    YOu be a disk problem since "Sep 14 14:28:14 stevens-computer kernel[0] <Notice>: disk2s3: I/O error."

    Try repairing the disk. If disk2s3 is the startup disk yo will have to boot to Recovery to repair it.

    Programs running at the time:
    Microsoft Outlook 2011
    Prinect Cockpit (latest version, not sure what it's number is)
    Adobe Indesign CC 2015
    Skype
    Google Chrome

     

    Have run repair on all 3 hard disks, no errors found.
