Sep 14, 2016 7:55 AM in response to Rich Allcornby babowa,The system is set to log you out after a period of non-activity (about 30 minutes); this is for security reasons. So, if it took you a while to compose or you walked away in between, then yes, it is quite possible. We all experience it. I always copy what I've typed if I'm not finished and need to tend to something else for the moment.

Sep 14, 2016 8:04 AM in response to Rich Allcornby babowa,Did I forget to mention that this site is powered by the Jive software. It has more glitches than you can imagine. The best way to deal with it is to grin and ignore it: sign out/back in and/or refresh. Helps if you have a couple of tabs open (but not always).
There is no logical or rational explanation as to how this site works (or not).

Sep 14, 2016 8:11 AM in response to Rich Allcornby Diana.McCall,Make sure you're posting to one of "leaf" forums, for example "Using iPhone", not "iPhone". Those higher ones are just folders holding the forums. When you hit Post and it asks you to pick a forum, you have to pick one. I prefer to open the forum before posting, so there's no confusion.

Sep 14, 2016 8:54 AM in response to Rich Allcornby turingtest2,To add to the confustion you will occasionally get that message when your post has been successfully received. Happened to me yesterday, I double-checked and opened the thread in another tab, refreshed and no sign of my post. Managed to invoke the recovery copy of the post, hit reply, and there were two copies of it.

Sep 14, 2016 9:31 AM in response to Rich Allcornby rccharles,★HelpfulHow to improve your form experience.
How to improve your experience with Apple Support Communities ( ASC )
How to improve the layout of ASC Web pages.
Adjust the format and layout of ASC Web Pages
It's unfortunate you have to do all these work-arounds to have a decent ASC experience.
