Q: Update iPad mini 2 to iOS 10

According to Apple the iPad mini 2 is supported for iOS 10, yet every time I try to update it nothing happens.

Tried iTunes and Settings on the device but no love.

Is there a way to manually force the update to start?

iPad 2, iOS 9.3.5

Do you see an available update in Settings->General->Software Update?

If so, what happens when you tap on Download & Install?

If not, what model number appears under Settings->General->About->Model for your iPad?

No, yet according to the Apple iOS 10 website it IS supported.

If not, what model number appears under Settings->General->About->Model for your iPad?

MD531LL/A which = iPad mini 1.
Box and receipt say mini 2. I will bring it back up to the store, thanks for your help with this Phil.

Yes, that model number is for a first gen iPad Mini.

It means its a first generation iPad Mini (iPad Mini 1) and cannot support iOS 10.
