Photos for Mac

Q: iOs 10 problem

I just upgraded to iOs 10.0.1 and I cannot open iPhoto or even Photo when I plug my iphone into my Mac Book Air.  It said "The Library Could Not be Open" and I tried to select "Photos Library (system default)" and it didn't work.  Please help!!!

 

I even tried to turn on iCloud Photo Library by going to Settings-->Photos&Camera-->turn on iCloud Photo Library, I left  Photo Stream off, iCloud Photo Sharing off.  So how come when I plug into my Mac Book Air the iPhoto Library and Photos cannot be open?

 

Please help!!!

Which version of McOS do you have on your Mac?  Where is your Photos LIbrary stored? What changed, before you no longer could open the Photos Library?

If you enable iCloud Photo Library on your iPhone, you can no longer import photos from your iPhone by plugging it into your Mac. The photos will be in iCloud and cannot be imported from the iPhone, because they may be optimized.

    No, I still cannot open Photos.  It still said "The Library could not be opened."  I already turn off the iCloud Photo Library, and plug it into my Mac Book Air (Yosemite version) (photos worked just yesterday)(nothing change, I just upgraded my iphone to iOS 10 this morning), and now it said could not be opened.  What is going on?

    This message appears on your MacBook Air, right? Then it refers to the Photos Library on your Mac and the system on your iPhone should not matter.

     

    What changed on on your MacBook Air, before you could not open the Photos Library any longer? Where is the Photos Library on your MacBook Air stored?

    ok, last night I also update on iTunes as well to the latest version of iTunes.

    The iTunes update may have changed system extensions, but there are no other reports, that it may be causing problems with Photos or iPhoto.

    Does Photos launch normally,if the iPhone is not connected?

    iPhoto will no longer allow me to see photos on my iPhone since I updated to iOS 10 therefore I can no longer import them.  I never changed to Photos because it wouldn't successfully import from iPhoto and because Photos doesn't support Events which I've used to organize all my photos for the past several years.

     

    Is iPhoto no longer able to talk to my iPhone due to iOS 10?  Really not appreciated if that's the case.

    I am running iOS 10.0.2 on my iPhone and iPhoto 9.6.1 can import from the iPhone, no problem., after I enter the passcode on the iPhone.

     

    Did you enable iCloud Photo Library on the iPhone? Then your photos will be in iCloud and may not be in the Camera roll, so you cannot import them from the device. If you are using iCloud Photo Library on your iPhone, you need to import using iCloud.

     

     

    And if you did not yet do it, launch iTunes while  the iPhon is connected to your computer. You may need to confirm on the iPhone that it can trust the Computer.
