Sep 14, 2016 2:07 PM in response to YCastellanoby ChrisJ4203,Normally these notifications appear after the software has been out for a period of time, and you have the device connected to wi-fi and power, such as when you charge it overnight. Usually shows up a day or so after release.

Sep 14, 2016 2:23 PM in response to YCastellanoby Lawrence Finch,iOS update notifications appear on the iOS device and in iTunes (if it is launched) on your computer. However, not all notifications go out at the same time. Apple staggers them in a (usually unsuccessful) attempt to manage the load on the download servers. Also, you will only receive an iTunes notification for iOS 10 if you have the latest version of iTunes installed on your computer. You would first get an iTunes update notification, and only get the iOS update notification after you have updated iTunes. The current version of iTunes is 12.5, and it requires Windows 7 or Mac OS 10.8.5 or later.
