Q: Two-page view not working correctly in iOS 10

I upgraded my iPad Air 2 to iOS 10 tonight, then went to continue reading a book I bought recently via iBooks.  The two-page view, when the iPad is in landscape mode, will not appear now - unless I make the font really small.  If I increase the font size while in landscape to something more readable, I only get a single page view.

I deleted and re-downloaded the book, but the behavior is the same.  I signed into iBooks on another iPad that's running ios 9.3.5, and the two-page view works correctly, with normal font sizes - sizes that will not let me view the same book in two-page mode on iOS 10.

Apple - help!  I really prefer reading with two-page landscape mode in iBooks.  I can't, however, seem to get this to work with anything but tiny fonts.

Has has anyone else noticed this?

iPad Air, iOS 10, null

This is a deal-breaker for me. I like to read how I like to read. I've customized my books,  HOURS of work, so that they look nice in two page mode. I can't find any solution, whether this is a bug or a new "feature."

I Discovered the same issue. Seems that I had my font too small so I was previously actually viewing more than one page. I increased the font size and it went back to single page display in portrait mode.

Just make font size smaller, and it goes to 2 page view. Uncomfortably

I contacted support later and they said to shrink the font too. It does make it go to two page, but it's fairly small. I can still read it, but I can imagine that it would be an issue for others.  And while I can still read it, I HATE it.  The person who helped me wasn't sure if it was a bug or an oversight or just the new normal.

Okay, I think that I have found the problem.  The default font selection is "Original".  Change it to any other font in the list.  The two page view returns.  You do not have to change font size.

Nice try...but if you have the font size too large, changing fonts does not create two column reading...until you shrink the font size.  Then all fonts are two columns...

    a good thought....just incorrect.

Same issue here...shrinking font size is apple's answer....I say apple, fix it.  It wasn't broken.  Of course, now it is!  Link it back to portrait or landscape view but give the minority the ability to turn feature off.  And it seems you continuously cowtow to the minority don't you!!!!

THere is no way anyone could not notice such a horrible change. One of the main reasons I bought an iPad, back to the first one, was to read. I loved iBooks and also have spent hours and hours to have the library the way I like it. I hate it now, I can't shrink the font size because I have severe sight problems. I say, Apple, fix it. Even Kindle  app gives the alternative to have one or two columns, and I hate kindle app.

Apple FIX IT, it was not broken

I hate this.  Apple needs to fix it NOW!  I am 79 years old and bought the 15" iPad Air so I could read with larger fonts in 2 page mode.   I need it back asap.

YA-HOO I've spent half the day on the phone with Apple Senior Advisors including iOS and iBook Senior Advisors. They all said they removed the 2 page option. I think I'll call Apple back and have them check on reducing the font size and how to fix it.  Hopefully everyone has gone to Apple's feedback page and voiced their problem.

Apple needs to get this fixed ASAP.  Very thoughtless in removing this important feature.

This is the ultimate in hubris by Apple software developers. Do they even read books themselves anymore? Did they ask their parents if this change was okay? Jeez... give us all a break and fix this crappy "upgrade." I'm disgusted, too.
