Apr 8, 2016 3:44 PM in response to lflf2052by FoxFifth,I haven't had that problem myself. You may want to also post the question in the Microsoft support forum for Office for Mac 2016: http://answers.microsoft.com/en-us/mac/forum/macoffice2016

Sep 14, 2016 1:47 PM in response to lflf2052by 289cobra,Did you ever find an answer to this? I have the same issue and have looked high and low for the solution.

Sep 14, 2016 2:15 PM in response to 289cobraby pokey b,The way I understand it... If you quit Excel with the screen maximized, it will then re-open maximized the next time Excel is started. And vice versa, and this is in fact, how it works on my Mac.

Sep 14, 2016 2:26 PM in response to pokey bby 289cobra,Yeah, that's the way mine always worked until a few months ago. Now every single spreadsheet opens to 100% maximized, no matter how I resize, save, and close it. Opening a brand new workbook works just fine - the issue only affects ones already created and saved.
I'm on a 2012 iMac running OS X Yosemite and Office 365.

Sep 14, 2016 2:39 PM in response to 289cobraby pokey b,I was wondering if drilling down into the options, either in Excel or in System Prefs might find an option (like a selectable option), but I just looked and am not finding one. I'm on a mid-2010 running OS X 10.11.6 and office 2011 and just tried closing and reopening existing documents and they do open as I described. Strange you are having this issue. Have you tried the above suggestion of going to the Microsoft forum?

Sep 14, 2016 2:43 PM in response to pokey bby 289cobra,Thanks pokey b for giving it a look. Microsoft forums will be my next step. I was hoping to avoid that as some of those folks don't take too kindly to Mac users...
