Etrecheck is a diagnostic utility. It does not fix anything. You need to study the results to see if there are things that may cause a slowdown. For example, at the very end under Diagnostics Information is a list of processes that have crashed. Any one of which may cause a slowdown. Under User Launch Agents there are three in red marked failed.

Both Google Drive and the Blackberry drivers are know to cause problems.

    Uninstall and test.

When exactly is it being too slow?

    Things I notice:

You have several duplicate plugins for your browser/Internet, some quite out of date.

You have 4 GB of RAM and are using El Capitan.  That's okay but is close to a realistic minimum and many say go with 8 GB.

I'm not sure about your drive but it looks like an older, slower model to me.

Just to add, you do have quite a few things installed going back as far as 2009 which no doubt are no longer compatible which can certainly cause slow downs.

Back up your Mac if you have not done so already. To learn how to do that read https://www.apple.com/support/backup/. To learn how to use Time Machine read Use Time Machine to back up or restore your Mac.

Determine if the same problems occur in "Safe Mode": Try safe mode if your Mac doesn't finish starting up - Apple Support. Use it in that mode long enough to compare its performance in that mode vs. how it has been working for you.

    Then, restart your Mac normally.

Describe your results. There will be more troubleshooting instructions to follow.

    Hello Emilyatallah,

Can you describe in detail which tasks are slow and under what circumstances?

Your EtreCheck report shows excellent performance. If you are nevertheless experiencing slowness, then that tells us that the slowness is part of the user interface, not a problem with your hardware or low-level software. EtreCheck can't measure user interface slowness. It may be a problem with software that runs at the user interface level. Anything that runs under "User Launch Agents" is likely related to user interface.

You also have some items that I'm not familiar with:

       [loaded]    com.cloudpath.maccmd.plist (2011-11-01) [Support]

        [loaded]    com.embraceware.awaken.plist (2009-11-22) [Support]

        [loaded]    com.enterasys.NacAgent.plist (2012-12-10) [Support]

I know they are not adware, but that is all I know about them. They could be contributing to the problem. I suggest uninstalling them. If that makes the machine run better, then you know one of them was causing the problem. You can then reinstall the latest version of each, one by one, if you really need them. Hopefully the slowness problem will not return.
