Q: Why are my tracks ineligible for iCloud Music Library?

I recently activated Apple Music on my Mac and turned on iCloud Music Library. Most of my songs were uploaded without issue, but there were a few, including some of my favorite tracks, that are apparently ineligible for the cloud.

These songs are all songs I purchased years ago so they are Protected AAC audio files and I purchased them on a different Apple ID as I used to share one with a family member before I got my own. However, my laptop is authorized to play songs from that ID and there were many other protected tracks in my library purchased with that other Apple ID that were matched/uploaded with no problems.

Also, all the tracks are 128 kbps, so they are in the range of quality to be uploaded. None are over 200 MB so file size isn't the issue either.

All but one of the tracks are still currently available on the iTunes Store and in the Apple Music catalog.

Is there some other reason they might be ineligible? And, if so, is there any way to fix this and upload them to my iCloud Music Library?

    Hi,

I has a small number of tracks that I could not upgrade. Whilst some of the songs where still in the iTunes Store, they were on rereleased/ remastered versions of the same album.

I suggest that you burn those tracks to an audio cd then rerip them. You may get a match.
