Q: unknown shared pc on finder

Hi everybody,

A couple of days ago i have been seen a unknow shared pc on my finder, so i try some things to remove it from there:

- 1st: i changed the wireless network password

- 2nd: i restore the airport express and reconfigured it

- 3rd: i put my network in acces control mode and listed all my MAC adress of all my devices there

In all cases the unknown pc still there.

Somebody may help me to remove it from my finder or know wich device is it

iMac, OS X Mavericks (10.9.1)

    I had this problem and clicked on Finder>Finder Preferences and then unchecked "Bonjour Computers" and the Shared computers immediately disappeared.  I don't know what I've done exactly or what overall effect it has, but at least I'm not having to stare at the mysterious shared computer name anymore.

    Of course that works your just hiding it , your not getting rid of the problem , which lies in the sharing setting .. Turn them on .. Click options and uncheck all the boxes you see checked should be 2 . Done

    Discovered a strange shared device in the finder sidebar today named "cha1nb10320".  Get Info produces the same lack of information as reported by others.  Guest User has always been off.  File sharing was on (AFP only) and, as soon as I turned it off, the PC disappeared.

    No one seems to have responded as to it's being a real breach.  Any opinions on that?

    How is this breach manifested, what does it do?

    A printer with SD card slots is a common cause.

    You can use something like

    Bonjour Browser

    <http://www.tildesoft.com>

    Flame

    <http://husk.org/apps/flame/>

    to view the devices advertising via Bonjour on your home network.  This can be helpful.

    WakeOnLan gives local network IP and MAC addresses

    <http://www.readpixel.com/wakeonlan/index.html>

    I find that this utility is very good at finding every device on the home LAN that has an IP address.  I never use it to wake anything up, but just to find local IP addresses and if it has a name, it gives me that.

    Between these utilities I can generally figure out what is on my LAN

    You might want to consider starting a new discussion. Since this one is a couple of years old and marked solved, less people are likely to look at it. A new post would be much more visible. You can link to this one.

    hey bro first of all i want to tell everyone that you need to close your mouth and quit picking straws if you don't know what you are talking about and i really don't care for a response because i will not read it anyway i got better things to do with my time and its bad enough using mac these days than to deal with people that not only hack but you have people who work for mac who do the same . THE SOLUTION ----number one you have to disconnect from the internet next you have to look for a file i copied pasted it but do not click on it. IT WAS supposed to simply display the file but looks like its just displaying a white piece of paper anyway you disconnect from the internet and delete that file from your cpu thats why you don't have a messy stupid mac or pc that you don't know exactly where where everything is or what you have on your mac simply clean up your pc of everything (documents or apk 's that you dont need mine was downloaded using android studio and android studio java and android studio sdk i know this because i just did a fresh install and have not downloaded anything on this pc yet also i have not surfed the web anyway /so the file was / again to reiterate because they only posted a white piece of paper an apk and inside of that is a script allowing the said user to hack or be on your mac in the first place now of COURSE AND OBVIOUSLY  there are numerous ways avenues and vessels in which this can get on your mac besides the said description ALSO don't wast your time with novices who only think they know what they are talking about and will attack this post to save face and ego they are and fall in the same catagory as the person who did this to your MAC/PC thank you and have a good day if this was not unmistakably clear then i don't know what to tell you this is as good as it gets LIKE I SAID I DID A FRESH INSTALL 5 minutes ago and despite what others may say to this or have you believe this is the real mcoy or real deal factual help in regards to the annoying problem ALSO take a usb flash drive thats at least 8 gb and download an new osx onto it there are youtube videos that show you how to do this you will have to sift throught them if you dont know how to use a youtube search engine but the best bet is to save contacts or pics via bluetooth onto a phone and whatever else on drop box or your email and wipe the cpu if you cannot find the file that is your best bet and then keep your cpu clean. AND LIKE I SAID TO THOSE OF YOU WHO WILL HAVE A NEGATIVE RESPONSE TO THIS TALK ALL YOU WANT I WON'T BE HERE TO WASTE MY TIME THE REAL DEAL EXPERTS DON'T HAVE TIME AND YOU CAN GO BACK TO TROLLING OTHER FORUMS OR PLACES ON THE INTERNET.
