Q: My Playlists on my iPhone are suddenly Empty

I have been using Apple Music on my iMac, iPhone and iPad with any real problems until now.  I have a number of playlists which I created. On my iPhone these playlists are now empty, yet on my iMac and iPad they are still correctly populated and play without a problem.

How do I 'refresh' the playlists on my iPhone?

Thank you for your help

iPhone 6, iOS 9.3.5

I had this problem too.  I fixed it by going into the iPhone section of iTunes on my PC and unchecking all the affected playlists.  I synced and then when that was done, rechecked them and synced again.  The playlists were restored.

    Thank, this is helpful.

Did you find away of getting the reinstated playlists to download their content to the iPhone in one go or did you have to select download for each playlist individually? I've got > 50 playlist so a manual approach is not ideal.

Glad I could help.  I only want selected playlists to be downloaded to the iPhone, so I have those checked in the iPhone settings in iTunes.  All I did was uncheck them, sync, then recheck them and sync.  This was unchecking and rechecking them manually and individually.  There doesn't seem to be a "check/uncheck all" option, so you'd have to do the unchecking and rechecking manually.

There might be some fancy AppleScript thing that will handle it for you, but I'm afraid that's above my pay grade.  Good luck!
