Q: El Capitan & iOS9, Contact, Me card, Sharing

I love my Apple products, but some functions leaves me baffled.

In Contacts, on the iMac you are give the option to edit your own "Me" card, and checkmark which information you want to be able share.

That is great, because you don't want to give out all the information that you have. Unfortunately that edit, doesn't sync to iOS9. I would think that most of us share our info via handheld devices, rather than desktops, so what use is it if it doesn't let you limit it on the handhelds?

The only solution, that I have seen is to create a new contact, of yourself, with only the info you want to share. Seems redundant in this time and age.

Am I missing some smoother way of doing this?

iMac, OS X El Capitan (10.11.5), 21.5", 8 GB RAM, late 2012 model

Try going to System Preferences/iCloud and stop syncing. Wait a couple of minutes, then recheck syncing.

Have you tried signing out of iCloud and then sign back in?

Thank you, Eric for responding to my question.

I tried what you suggested, but it does not address my "problem". I really do not have any sync issues, what I'm questioning is why there is an option to limit what is being shared from the "Me" card in contacts in El Capitan, and not in iOS9. All the info is synced between both systems, but in iOS9 it does not limit the information if you share the "Me" card with someone.

In El Capitan, when you are in edit mode, to the right of all your info there is a "share" box next to each entry (i.e. home phone, address, anniversary birth date etc). So if you share from your Mac, it will limit the information shared to only the boxes that are check marked. When you share from iOS9 it shares everything on the card. That is what I am questioning.
