Q: GPS location problem after update to IOS 10

Anyone has problem with GPS location issue after update to IOS10?

I was driving from Baltimore to DC Regan Airport, I tried with both apple map and Google map yesterday, location was way off the highway, it could not determine where we are, we were on highway, but it kept showing us that we were on some local road off highway.  It could not be located during 90% time on my road.  Eventually, I have to use my brother phone with IOS9, we were lucky that he has not updated to the newest IOS 10.

Wonder if anyone has the same problem after the update.

iPhone 6, iOS 10, null

    Hello yinchiu85,

I understand that your iPhone appears to be having a difficult time determining its location accurately. Fortunately there are a number of steps that you can take to help improve its accuracy.

    Improve GPS accuracy

GPS accuracy depends on the number of visible GPS satellites. Locating all visible satellites can take several minutes, with accuracy gradually increasing over time. To improve GPS accuracy:

    • Make sure that you've set the date, time, and time zone correctly on the device in Settings > General > Date & Time. If possible, use Set Automatically.
    • Keep a clear view in several directions. Walls, vehicle roofs, tall buildings, mountains, and other obstructions can block line of sight to GPS satellites. When this happens, your device uses Wi-Fi or cellular networks to determine your position until the GPS satellites are visible again.

If your iPhone still fails to accurately identify your location, the next step would be to reset Location Services.

If you would like to reset all of your location settings to the factory default, go to Settings > General > Reset and tap Reset Location & Privacy. When your location and privacy settings are reset, apps will stop using your location until you grant them permission.
